By changing our emotions, we impact the state of our health. Changing our emotions need not be a complicated matter. Simply remembering something that makes us smile, or something that makes us laugh changes our emotional state in a matter of seconds.

Life is a wonderful gift but it is also challenging and sometimes heart-wrenching. We can all use a little motivation and inspiration from time to time to help us navigate the small and large hurdles we encounter on our journey.
People are alike in so many ways. We all have emotions —— we love, laugh, cry, get angry, etc. We all eat, sleep, breathe, and have blood running through our veins. Yet, there are some ways in which we differ and we judge. Where is the compassion for our fellow man?

With each new day comes the opportunity to focus on our blessings and to live in gratitude for all we have. It is amazing how much brighter the world appears when you look for the silver lining, even in the most difficult of situations. Choose to find the lesson in times of struggle and challenge...to have faith that tomorrow will be a better day...to appreciate the beauty of nature that exists all around you...and to know that right now you are exactly where it is intended for you to be.

When something goes wrong think about why it went wrong (so you can avoid the same situation in the future) and then do something about it. If you said something better left unsaid or forgot to do something you should have done then acknowledge the situation and act in a positive way. Say sorry – it won’t kill you. Explain what happened and put it right if you can. Can you think of one person who never gets things wrong? Actions speak louder than words so think about what you can do and do it. People who develop a positive lifestyle know that it is not making a mistake that is the problem but how to deal with it and move on.

Overgeneralization is best characterized when we believe if one bad thing happens, then everything else is doomed to go poorly. The biggest overgeneralization red flags are words like never, always, should or everybody. Understand an over generalized statement is another form of a negative thought. Re-think your words and reconsider the circumstance. Attempt to find something positive.
Just because we are experiencing a certain uncomfortable emotion doesn’t mean our character, our soul, has been downgraded. It just means for that moment, in that small space of time, we feel a certain way about ourselves. When we allow ourselves to be human and give our spirit the grace and mercy it deserves, we are in a better position to reframe self-limiting thoughts and keep them from manifesting to the point they begin to define who we are.

Life’s two most important questions are "Why?" and "Why not?" The trick is knowing which one to ask. Understanding why we do certain things is the first step to change. Until we understand what motivates us, what we get from doing a particular behavior, there is no momentum to begin the change process. Likewise, by asking "Why not?" we begin assessing the risk versus reward aspect which can lead to bringing about productive change in our lives.
When we think about the things that can change our lives in an instant we usually think of the negative ones first: accidents, our employer going out of business, or the news of a loved one becoming seriously ill. There is plenty of room; however, for good things to happen too, we just have to be more patient. Losing weight, improving a relationship, or creating a rewarding career all take effort, but the life-long satisfaction these bring can help to fill our souls when they are emptied-out by the bad.

Learn to respect other people's opinions and beliefs. Let me ask you, what makes you think that your opinions and beliefs are more important than others? You have to realize that what is good for you might not be good for others and what is good for others might not be good for you. You can disagree with someone's opinions and beliefs in a respectable and positive way, not in a negative way.

Keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much. Fill your life with love. Scatter sunshine. Forget self, think of others. Do as you would be done by. It’s the way to happiness. Try this for a week and you will be surprised.

Affluent societies have put huge effort into improving physical facilities, but our minds have suffered neglect. Increased levels of negative states such as anxiety, addiction, irritability and depression have accompanied burgeoning desires. As well as undermining the health of individuals, these negative attitudes and emotions harm society and the environment by causing a loss of fundamental values in our actions. When we feel sad and empty inside, we become a part of the problem. We comfort ourselves by blaming others and circumstances. Instead we have to learn how to make our mind strong. That means fill it with positivity.

You will make mistakes. Everyone does. You will have regrets. You must learn to accept these things and learn how to move on. Dwelling too long on mistakes serves no purpose but to cause you unnecessary pain. You won't learn from mistakes by hating yourself for making them. Take responsibility for mistakes, take measures to rectify them if possible, and then move on.

Our lives are made up of a million moments, spent in a million different ways.
Some spent searching for love, peace and harmony.
Others are spent surviving day to day.
But there is no greater moment than when we find that life,
with all its joys and sorrows,
is meant to be lived one day at a time.
You can inspire and encourage others towards personal growth and development! Others can be inspired by you in many ways, whether they are watching you from the sidelines or whether you share with them how you overcame a difficulty when they are going through a similar trial.

To be emotionally healthy you need to spend a lot of time being open and learning. As soon as you close your mind to new ideas or information you cut yourself off from the possibility of being healthy. This post could perhaps serve as a starting point. It is by no means the end point. Read, research, study and practice. And never give up, because emotional health is an ongoing process.

We all have three eyes. Two for looking out and one for looking in. Why would we want to look in when everything is happening 'out there'? Because the treasure we seek is inside, not outside. What is treasure? Beauty, truth, peace, happiness. You already have what you seek. You already are stunningly beautiful. You are already peaceful and loving. How come you don't know this? Simple, you never look inwards, beyond superficial memories or recent experiences, so you never see your own riches. Take a moment to stop, look in and see. Don't rush. Don't search. Just look. And be aware.
