The greatest mistake you can make in life is to continually be afraid you will make one.

Make A Mistake
Don't argue for other people's weaknesses. Don't argue for your own. When you make a mistake, admit it, correct it, and learn from it--immediately.

I think it is ok to allow yourself to make mistakes. Making them often helps teach us what is right. Trying to be perfect leads to perfectionism which most people agree is not healthy. Leading a narrow existence also leaves our experience of life emptier then if we were to experiment and broaden our horizons. Also when we are not trying to be perfect we don't have overly high expectations in others and we become more tolerant and accepting of others. We can't know everything and we should be somewhat curious about what we don't know, at least for the sake of our mental health. We also learn forgiveness in the process and also might find out just how wrong we were all along.

Mistakes of Others
Learn from the mistakes of others. There's an old Zen proverb that states: "It takes a wise man to learn from his mistakes, but an even wiser man to learn from others."

Learn Valuable Information
Use reframing to stop thinking of your mistakes as failures. They can be more accurately described as opportunities for learning—people generally learn more from mistakes than they learn from successes. With each mistake, you can learn valuable information that can be used for future success.

Deal with It and Move On
When something goes wrong think about why it went wrong (so you can avoid the same situation in the future) and then do something about it. If you said something better left unsaid or forgot to do something you should have done then acknowledge the situation and act in a positive way. Say sorry – it won’t kill you. Explain what happened and put it right if you can. Can you think of one person who never gets things wrong? Actions speak louder than words so think about what you can do and do it. People who develop a positive lifestyle know that it is not making a mistake that is the problem but how to deal with it and move on.

You will make mistakes. Everyone does. You will have regrets. You must learn to accept these things and learn how to move on. Dwelling too long on mistakes serves no purpose but to cause you unnecessary pain. You won't learn from mistakes by hating yourself for making them. Take responsibility for mistakes, take measures to rectify them if possible, and then move on.

Daily Affirmation: Self Abuse Has No Place In My Life
Mistakes happen. Mortal life is a training ground and if we got everything right the first time there probably would be no need to be here. Browbeating ourselves for errors won't help us learn, experience will. So apologize to yourself, kiss and make up. Affirm this daily affirmation. A lot of tension will be relieved and mistakes will become less frequent.

Courage
Courage is personal bravery in the face of fear. It is going ahead even when you feel like quitting. It is needed in trying new things, in facing the truth and in picking yourself up after a mistake, ready to try again.
