In every story I have heard, good mentors share one trait: a strong sense of personal identity infuses their work.

Critical People

The natural reaction of critical people is to criticize, not praise. So if you talk to them about something in hopes they will respond in enthusiasm and encouragement, stop doing it. You have seen their critical behavior in action before, so it shouldn’t surprise you if they continue to dish out criticisms at what you say.

People in this World

Everyone needs encouragement. So many people in this world feel discouraged, pressed in, cornered, unworthy, unlovable, or completely overwhelmed by the circumstances of their lives. You can make a difference in one moment if you will honestly and sincerely encourage them. Let them know that they are capable, that they can do the task before them.

If someone listens, or stretches out a hand, or whispers a word of encouragement, or attempts to understand a lonely person, extraordinary things begin to happen.

Be An Encourager

When it comes to encouragement I know that every one of us loves working for and with people who bring out the best in us. We love being around people who uplift us and make us feel great.

And while we'll always remember the negative people who told us we couldn't accomplish something, we will always cherish and hold a special place in our heart for those who encouraged us.

Today I want to encourage you to be an encourager. So often the difference between success and failure is belief. And so often that belief is instilled in us by someone who encouraged us.

Today decide to be that person who instills a positive belief in someone who needs to hear your encouraging words. Uplift someone who is feeling down. Fuel your team with your positive energy. Rally others to focus on what is possible rather than what seems impossible.

Moving Forward

I remember a time when it felt like nothing could go right. The world seemed to be against me. But no matter how hard it got I kept moving forward, even when I I had no idea where I was going.

Encouragement to Strengthen

Some of the things that discourage us at times are too insignificant to even allow them to determine our destiny. I do understand that at times it can be a situation that is beyond your control. What ever it may be, try to exercise some patience and look forward to another day. Do not make decisions when you are most vulnerable because you might regret them later on.
