Focus on the Negative
It is true that there is much suffering in the world. But do we need to worry about it? If we focus on the negative, that drains us of the strength to help. Goodness and truth are also at work in our world, as well as darker forces. When I switch on my awareness of positive qualities common to humanity, it is like bringing light into the darkness. The past stops haunting me and I stop worrying about the future. I see more clearly what I need to do now, for lasting happiness and health.

Focusing On Negatives
Avoid dwelling on downers. Focusing on negatives isn't just unpleasant, it also can make you less effective in tackling tasks you face. In a study of test-takers, those who fixated on worrisome thoughts performed worse than those who were distracted from their worries.

Most Successful
Studies I've read indicate that those who are most successful use positive self-talk over 80% of the time, while those who do not succeed use negative talk about the same ratio. If you can switch your self-talk to talk that supports your activities, you'll succeed more often.

Congratulate Yourself
Congratulate yourself repeatedly for every positive private thought you have about yourself and watch your energy increase. When negative talk begins again, don't cave in to a re-run of old tapes. Replace them with these new and positive tapes of inner love for yourself.

Don't Expect Change to Be Easy
No one ever promised that making a big change in your life would be easy or that overcoming obstacles would be a walk in the park. It's not supposed to be. Don't let opposition let you lose your confidence and adapt a negative attitude.

A Circle on a Piece of Paper
Robert Schuller (best known for Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do!) tells the story of a professor who made a circle on a piece of paper, colored it black, and then asked his psychology students what they saw. The answers were many: A black dot; A round circle and it's dark; A round circle colored solid black. Finally the professor asked: "Doesn't anybody see a piece of white paper?" Most of the people you work with and live with are negative people, looking at the faults, points out Schuller. In this search for negatives, "they miss everything that's positive and great".

Self Trash Talk

Negative inner talk - self trash talk - is mostly a habit. Unfortunately, we're accustomed to trashing ourselves. Once you realize that negative inner talk is habit talk, you become self-aware of your thinking and you can make a new choice. Every time you make the choice to replace negative with inner Love talk, you are establishing a new habit of loving yourself.

Takers of Negativity
We have become takers of negativity, ego, anger, frustration and waste. This needs to be changed. The thinking has to become positive. With the power of positivity, we refuse to give up. Remember, though situations don’t last but tough people do.

Focus On Being Happy
Our thinking directly affects our bodies and how it functions. Negative thinking makes the whole body weak and fragile. All that stress, worrying, and nonsense thinking leads to headaches, sleeping disorders, muscle tensions, anxiety, and fatigue. So push the problems aside and just focuses on being happy.
Positive and Uplifting Words
One of the biggest barriers to building self esteem is constant negative thoughts about yourself and your abilities. Speak positive and uplifting words to yourself. Do it when you are alone, speak them out loud. When others might hear, it is quite alright to speak to yourself in your mind

Things that can Change
When we think about the things that can change our lives in an instant we usually think of the negative ones first: accidents, our employer going out of business, or the news of a loved one becoming seriously ill. There is plenty of room; however, for good things to happen too, we just have to be more patient. Losing weight, improving a relationship, or creating a rewarding career all take effort, but the life-long satisfaction these bring can help to fill our souls when they are emptied-out by the bad.

Make Our Mind Strong
Affluent societies have put huge effort into improving physical facilities, but our minds have suffered neglect. Increased levels of negative states such as anxiety, addiction, irritability and depression have accompanied burgeoning desires. As well as undermining the health of individuals, these negative attitudes and emotions harm society and the environment by causing a loss of fundamental values in our actions. When we feel sad and empty inside, we become a part of the problem. We comfort ourselves by blaming others and circumstances. Instead we have to learn how to make our mind strong. That means fill it with positivity.

Negative vs. Positive
We take so much for granted, and tend to focus on the negative vs. the positive, which is a human tendency that must constantly be battled. One way to accomplish this is before you start your day, count all of your blessings, and count none of your "troubles." What are you thankful for? An attitude of gratitude lifts the spirit to more consistent inspiration.

The easy way to overcome any negative trait or habit is to work with virtues. In order to overcome negative tendencies the usual tendency is to make effort to remove them. But it is found that the more we think about them even if it is to remove them, we find ourselves becoming more aware of them. This makes the influence of our negativity stronger.
The solution lies in making effort of working with virtues. For example, instead of saying we will not work with anger we will now practice working with our inherent peace. For this we need to make it a habit to work with peace so that it emerges naturally even in difficult situations.

Negative Beliefs Does Take Time
Dropping your negative beliefs does take time, especially considering many of us have been conditioned to accept these negative beliefs as fact. Simply accept where you are currently and strive to improve. The important thing action. Read inspiring literature. Surround yourself with encouraging individuals. With time your negative beliefs will slowly suffocate within the presence of empowering beliefs.

As we think so is our world. Inspite of our best efforts if things don't turn out the way we expect them to, there is a tendency to get disheartened and we begin to have negative thoughts. These negative thoughts further create negative situations and we find that things get no better. Instead of beginning to change things and situations that are going wrong, you need to work at the seed, i.e your thoughts. You need to keep your thoughts positive under all circumstances, which will make your actions positive too and you slowly find things changing for the better.

Power of Our Thoughts
If we understood the power of our thoughts,
we would guard them more closely.
If we understood the awesome power of our words,
we would prefer silence to almost anything negative.
In our thoughts and words we create
our own weaknesses and our own strengths.
Our limitations and joys begin in our hearts.
We can always replace negative with positive.

With Inner Happiness We Can Move Forward with Lightness
To work with the inner happiness is to move forward with lightness. Usually we do take care not to give sorrow to others, but we sometimes do take sorrow from the words and behaviour of others. This disturbs our own inner state and we are not able to work with lightness. Then we find that we are not able to be effective in our work and this further effects our inner state. We need to pay special attention not to take sorrow from anyone. As much as we are careful not to give sorrow to others, we need to make sure we don't take any sorrow too. That means we need to remain light by keeping ourselves open to criticism. We need to take any criticism that comes our way in the right spirit and see that we learn from it without having any negative thoughts.
