The Word Grace

Grace means more than gifts. In grace something is transcended, once and for all overcome. Grace happens in spite of something; it happens in spite of separateness and alienation. Grace means that life is once again united with life, self is reconciled with self. Grace means accepting the abandoned one. Grace transforms fate into a meaningful vocation. It transforms guilt to trust and courage. The word grace has something triumphant in it.

Let us realize that the privilege to work is a gift, that power to work is a blessing, that love of work is success.

I’ll Be There

If you have ever had to call a friend in the middle
of the night, to take a sick child to hospital, or
when your car has broken down some miles from
home, you will know how good it feels to hear the
phrase “I’ll be there.” Being there for another
person is one of life’s greatest gift we can give. When we
are truly present for other people, important
things happen to them and us. We are renewed
in love and friendship. We are restored
emotionally and spiritually. Being there is at the
very core of civility.
