I Want to Make a Difference

Do you feel the urge to 'give something back' - but you're not sure what or how?

Sometimes the answer is obvious. It’s right in front of us. It’s looking after a sick relative. It’s dropping a few coins in the collecting box. But often we have to think more deeply. What sort of difference do we want to make? What is the unique contribution that only we can make - because of who we are and what we care about? These are hard questions. Sometimes our whole life slips by before we can answer them. This site helps you to answer these questions.

Find a simple way to make a difference to someone in the next twenty-four hours. Devote between five minutes and half-an-hour to it. Your budget: anywhere from nothing to an hour's wages. It could be as obvious as carrying someone's groceries. It could be buying a book for a friend. It could be phoning someone who's unhappy or troubled. Choose something simple but worthwhile, and go do it. Then see how it makes you feel: our bet is that you'll feel more fulfilled immediately.
