Pursuit of Material Possessions

I like to have "things" just as much as you do. But, I learned long ago not to place my sense of "self-worth" in how much stuff I have.

If you obsess about getting the next house, car, clothes or whatever in order to feel worth something, feeling inner peace and happiness will always elude you.

Learn to place more emphasis on your inner feelings and the present moment.

"The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good. Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom."
- James Allen

Peace of mind really does come in large part from your ability to shift your thoughts from one of outward focus to inward focus. How you view your world is more important than actual reality.
