Silence heals. Silence is like a mirror. Everything is clear. The mirror does not blame or criticize but helps me to see things as they are, releasing me from all types of wrong thinking. Silence revives the original peace of the self – a peace that is innate, divine and when invoked ever-flowing.

The Gift

Bennet Cerf relates this touching story about a bus that was bumping along a back road in the South.

In one seat a wispy old man sat holding a bunch of fresh flowers. Across the aisle was a young girl whose eyes came back again and again to the man's flowers. The time came for the old man to get off. Impulsively he thrust the flowers into the girl's lap. "I can see you love the flowers," he explained, "and I think my wife would like for you to have them. I'll tell her I gave them to you." The girl accepted the flowers, then watched the old man get off the bus and walk through the gate of a small cemetery.

Self-inquiry into stress and anxiety.

Use the acronym RAIN as an informal practice for working with mindful self-inquiry:

R = Recognize when a strong emotion is present.

A = Allow or acknowledge that it’s there.

I = Investigate the body, emotions, and thoughts.

N = Non-identify with whatever is there.

RAIN is an insightful self-inquiry practice that you can bring into your daily life to help you discover deeper threads of what triggers strong emotional reactions.

Humility

Whether someone is super-smart, extremely talented or drop-dead gorgeous, there is something extra special about them if they don’t come across as though they know it all the time. Humility in those that possess extraordinary traits make others feel special too.

The Magic of Believing

I'm not old enough to play baseball or football.
I'm not eight yet.
My mom told me when you start baseball,
you aren't going to be able to run that fast because you just had an operation.
I told Mom I wouldn't need to run that fast.
When I play baseball, Ill just hit them out of the park.
Then I'll be able to walk.

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.

- Buddha
When we are committed to bringing out our inner perfection, we are never deterred by the temporary situations that come our way. We move on with confidence, taking time to look within and recognize the hidden potential within us. We are able to get closer and closer to the perfection that we always seek.

Whining and Complaining

My days of whining and complaining about others have come to an end. Nothing is easier than fault finding. All it will do is discolor my personality so that none will want to associate with me. That was my old life. No more.

The Power of Truth

The power of Truth is such that you need never be concerned about proving it for this only reveals your own stubbornness. Just be concerned with being it, and living it. Truth reveals itself at the right moment and right place.

Loyal to Yourself

It is said that the mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy. At every moment we have the opportunity to choose our company: thoughts which bring oxygen to the spirit or those who bring pain. If I am loyal to myself, I will continually strive to go back to my inner core of positivity. Again and again. I will be patient and loving, and increasingly my mind will reside in this positive inner truth. When I am able to be loving and loyal to myself, I can then help others in this same unconditional manner.

Courage

Courage is personal bravery in the face of fear. It is going ahead even when you feel like quitting. It is needed in trying new things, in facing the truth and in picking yourself up after a mistake, ready to try again.

Happiness

One who gives happiness cannot give sorrow.
One who gives sorrow, cannot give happiness.
Where there is happiness there cannot be sorrow.

Keep Shining

The best service is to keep shining with inner specialities. Everyone wants to become a source of support and help to others. Attempts are made to do something, which will help others. But the real service that one can do is to discover the inner qualities that are present and use them in simple activities. These specialities add quality to the task, and become a source of benefit and joy for those around. When we are able to add quality to what we do, we automatically become a source of inspiration for those around us.

Bring Back Lightness in Life

Wisdom is not so much a creative quality as one of nurturing what is already there. Wisdom is making the very best of what you have, not stretching your hand for more than you require, nor taking too much. Never saying you will do something, just doing it; and not being enthusiastic. It is seeing the drabness of life and making it beautiful. It is recognizing that every gesture of giving is a right gesture and every gesture of taking is an invitation of influence. Because if you take what you most want, there may be mud stuck to it – heaviness. By giving, as you withdraw, you bring back lightness. It is a life of quiet victories and smiling defeats.

Spiritual Intelligence

When we are faced with pressures, deadlines and troubles we must resist the urge to worry and flit from one thing to another, or to get irritated or blame others, which would just drain our energy. Instead we should try to create a loving attitude towards ourselves and our situation as this will energize our spirit. A kind compassionate approach to life helps the mind to stay clear and focused and takes it to a higher level of spiritual intelligence.

Think Positively

When you build a house, every brick counts, when you build character, every thought counts. Your thoughts create your feelings. To save yourself from useless and painful feelings, don't think about useless and negative things. Make every thought you think worthwhile and constructive.

Sometimes, we do not take action because we think we can only do a little and it won't make a difference. However, the video reminds us that even if we can only do a little, we can make a difference.

Valuable Outcome

Your day is yours to control, you are at the whim of circumstance only in so much as you choose to respond to circumstance. Plan work for the day ahead and use the power of those tasks to motivate yourself you will feel much more in control in your work environment. This extra security will help build your self confidence and help you to see things more positively. Motivation comes from knowing we have a task that will challenge us, is not insurmountable, and will provide a valuable outcome.

Success or Failure

Success or failure depends more upon attitude than upon capacity. Successful people act as though they have accomplished or are enjoying something. Soon it becomes a reality. Act, look, feel successful, conduct yourself accordingly and you will be amazed at the positive result.

No Limitations

With visualization there are no limitations. You can be and do anything. You can live in the house of your dreams, drive the car you want, be married to the love of your life and travel to exotic places. Not all of us get this luxury right now, but when we visualize, we have the power to visualize whatever we want without limitations.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. you just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someones hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.

Inspiration

When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds. Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.

Contentment and Peace

Shadows of yesterday
have faded away
Sun has reappeared
it's a brand new day

Birds singing their song
loud and clear
Announcing to the world
a new day is here

Sun appears in the east
has begun a new quest
In the middle at noon
and then sets in the west

Wishing you contentment
and peace along the way
Good morning to you
have a nice day!

If Someone...

If someone listens, or stretches out a hand, or whispers a word of encouragement, or attempts to understand a lonely person, extraordinary things begin to happen.

- Loretta Girzartis

Three Complain Rule

Practice the "three complaint rule". When it comes to complaining, you are allowed to complain about something three times. After that either change your attitude, change your behavior, accept the situation or move on (and stop complaining).

Our Level of Commitment

I believe life is constantly testing us for our level of commitment, and life's greatest rewards are reserved for those who demonstrate a never-ending commitment to act until they achieve. This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent. As simplistic as this may sound, it is still the common denominator separating those who live their dreams from those who live in regret.

- Anthony Robbins

This Life is Yours

Take the power to choose what you want to do and do it well.
Take the power to love what you want in life and love it honestly.
Take the power to walk in the forest and be a part of nature.
Take the power to control your own life. No one else can do it for you.
Take the power to make your life happy.

Two Days Without Worry

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is Yesterday with all its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone forever.

The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow with all its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and its poor performance; Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control. Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise.Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow, for it is yet to be born. This leaves only one day, Today. Any person can fight the battle of just one day. It is when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities, Yesterday and Tomorrow that we break down. It is not the experience of Today that drives a person mad, it is the remorse or bitterness of something which happened Yesterday and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.

Let us, therefore, Live but one day at a time.

Devote Yourself

So many people walk around with a meaningless life.

They seem half-sleep, even when they're busy
doing things they think are important.
This is because they're chasing the wrong things.

The way you get meaning into your life
is to devote yourself to loving others,
devote yourself to your community around you,
and devote yourself to creating something
that gives you purpose and meaning.

What we are today is result of our own past actions;
Whatever we wish to be in future depends on our present actions;
Decide how you have to act now.

We are responsible for what we are,
whatever we wish ourselves to be.
We have the power to make ourselves.

What I Say Today

Today I will be careful about what I say: I will carefully choose and guard my words being certain that I do not spread gossip.

- Kaoru

Say "No"

Learn to say “no” – many of us just cannot say the words “no” when asked if we mind doing something, this is usually out of fear of upsetting the other person, but if you are taking on the responsibilities of others then you are taking time away from your own workload or tasks and essentially robbing yourself of that precious time which leads
to stressing you out.

- Kaoru
